35 Year Reunion Weekend

began with:

SATURDAY, AUGUST 25, 2007

SIMON'S RESTAURANT, SAN PEDRO

Did YOU Join Our Thirty-Five Year Reunion?

We certainly hope that you joined us, your class mates and friends, for a  party atmosphere as "The Mystics" celebrated thirty-five years since graduation! Our reunion included photo name badges, appetizers, no-host cocktails, a buffet dinner with three entrees, four salads, seasonal vegetables, rice pilaf and potatoes, a non-alcoholic beverage, and a dessert bar, plus dancing  and professional photography, and reminiscing.

The excitement generated by seeing and visiting with long-time friends was palpable...who did you most look forward to seeing at this reunion? And who was looking forward to seeing you? You needed to be with us to answer these questions - and satisfy your curiousity! The combination?  Priceless!

A digitized CD version of our 1972 SPHS "Black & Gold" Yearbook entitled "Child of the Universe" is now available for sale!  Cost is $30, plus $2.00 for first class mailing.  Perhaps you never purchased a 1972 yearbook...or you need to replace a lost yearbook?  It's also a great addition to your SPHS memorabilia collection.

To order the digitized CD version of the 1972 yearbook, please contact Michele Burk  (click on the underlined name and your e-mail program will open) for details.

***REUNION PHOTOS***

Steve Shambeck of PLS Photography, who was our photographer at the reunion, produced a nice flyer which was handed out as attendees checked-in and picked up their photo/name badges.

To view the photos on-line, please visit the webpage on this site called '35 Year Reunion Photos'.  The Reunion Committee thanks Steve heartily for coming out and photographing our class at no charge to the committee!

And did you continue your ‘reunion experience’ weekend at the

FIFTH ANNUAL

"A GATHERING OF 'THE CROWD' AND FRIENDS" PICNIC?

The Sunday after the reunion buffet dinner/dance, a picnic at the former site of 'Friendship Park' (now BOGDANOVICH PARK) was held...and it RAINED!  This FREE picnic was open to ALL of the SPHS Classes of the 1970s decade.

DIRECTIONS:  BOGDANOVICH PARK (FORMERLY "FRIENDSHIP PARK") IS LOCATED ON CUMBRE DRIVE - JUST PAST THE SAN PEDRO ELKS CLUB.  If you approach from south on Western, turn right on Morse Drive and go up the hill into upper South Shores.  When Morse Drive ends at Mantis, turn right and then shortly Mantis curves to the left onto Cumbre.  Proceed about a half mile, past the San Pedro Elks Club to the entrance of Bogdanovich Park (on the right side of the street).

Friendship Park still exists. It is now under the control of the Los Angeles County Dept. of Parks and Recreation and it is accessible from the parking lot of what we remember being the original Friendship Park, or you can access both parks just west of the intersection of Western Avenue and 9th Street/Miraleste Drive.

Look for the yellow "A GATHERING OF 'THE CROWD' AND FRIENDS" signs.  The site will be set up by about 9 a.m. on Sunday morning, allowing those who attend our 35-Year Reunion Dinner/Dance event but who may have to leave for home on Sunday, to stop by and visit with friends before heading home.

To save and print the 35-Year Reunion Registration Form from your PC's hard drive, please right click on the symbol shown below; a box will appear; scroll down and click on 'Save Target As'.  A new box will open and you will be able to save the form to a file or folder on your computer, and then print it out for use.
